Finger millet is mostly cultivated in the semi-arid tropics of Asia and Africa. In Asia, finger millet is mostly grown in the southern states of India, which provides favorable conditions for growing. Ragi is a good cereal grain, also known as Eleusine Coracan, or finger millet. Although, despite being mindful of its health advantages, certain people are always unable to eat it, and the cause is its bitter flavor. Finger millet produces around 5–8 percent protein, 1–2 percent ether extract, 65–75 percent starch, 15–20 percent dietary fiber, and 2.5–3.5 percent minerals. It has the maximum calcium content of all cereals (344 mg/100 g)
