Browntop millet is an imported grass, which arose in South East Asia. It is cultivated in Africa, western Asia, Arabia, China, and Australia. It was launched from India to the United States in 1915. Browntop millet develops and matures for about 90 days, a shorter period than a few other millets, including pearl millet. Browntop millets are rich in protein and dietary fiber. Millet is a tiny greenish grain with a good nutrient value relative to corn, wheat, jowar, abundant in fiber, iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, protein, and vitamin B complex.
